Controlled Demolition
DXI completed the controlled demolition on area of land that was to be redeveloped as housing. Working in close proximity to existing residents, the works required completion within a restricted working day, with detailed consideration being given to both the safety of site workers, and for members of the public.
Strict control of emissions was achieved with the deployment of noise baffles, the strategic location of material screens, control of dust with mist sprays. Light pollution was reduced with the control of the direction of work lighting, the use of movement sensors to limit active light sources. Sediment traps were employed to prevent migration of solids off site.
• The works were completed in line with the agreed programme.
• Suitable fill was generated for future site use
• Chemical hotspots were isolated and transported for disposal
• The site was handed to the client in readiness for future development.
